What is a Family Advocate?

We create services and activities to foster strong and healthy relationships within the home. We provide support in a case management manner. Our job is to communicate between families, staff, the community, and other family-related services. The Family Advocacy Center provides intensive case management and follow-up services to families who have been reported to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) for any type of neglect and/or abuse of the children. Our Advocates collaborate with a child welfare/protection specialists, service providers, and the family to provide intensive services to parents to enable the family to remain together.
